Well, I hate the cables and there are no aftermarket options, but, yea. I've also rolled through Dekoni sheepskin and leather pads and always return to the (somewhat scratchy texture) stock pads. It's a beyerdynamic v shaped sound but the highs aren't anywhere near as stupid as the dt990 pro. Massdrop products often offer better value for money. Eg HD6xx costs $220 but the identical product HD650 is ~$360. HD58x naming is misleading. In reality, it is one tier above hd599. Its within same class as HD600, HD650, HD660 but with different tuning. I think the X2hrs and the HD 560s are more neutral than DT 990 pro and maybe have a slightly wider sound stage.
