It's a neat fit; to gain acces I had to use a short crank allen key. I didn't remove the fill plug first, but I slackened it off. As to quantity of oil, the box took about one and three quarter litres before backflowing out of the fill plug, so allowing for the remains of the old oil clinging to the gearbox internals, hopefully all should be well.
the oil is there because that pipe is part of the crankcase ventilation system. if it didnt have oil i would be far more concerned. the notchy gearchange into 1st and 2nd isnt unsual with a cold gearbox. try replacing the fluid (use castrol) and add some molylube. it can really make a big difference. slick50 doesnt work so avoid it.
CV boot change; 1. remove wheel trim. 2.slacken drive shaft nut after tapping the two lock tab parts back. You will need a breaker bar! 3. Remove road wheel. 4.Remove track rod ball joint nut & free the ball joint from where it passes through. 5. Undo the lower anti-role bar nut, washer and bush.

Re: Bravo 1 drive oil change procedure. you need to remove the top plug , and should be able to get to it with a stubby screwdriver without removing the steering ram. You dont need a suction pump. Remove the drain / fill screw in the lower unit below the prop shaft. The fluid drains from there.
